Antique Trunk Handles-2 leather straps,4 trunk hardware black metal caps-nails-A

These handles are new stock and are very suitable for handle replacements on Antique Trunks or newly built Chests–Included in this purchase are the following:Two russett leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4″ wide by 8 1/2″ inches long by 1/4″ and very sturdy– Four metal strap ends with coat of primer and a finish coat of hammered black enamel. Eighteen- 1-1/4″ long cut steel nails to fasten the leather to the trunk. Nails are to be placed four per strap end under the position of the metal strap ends in a four square position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Eighteen 3/4″ split brass plated tacks to fasten the metal strap ends. The handles measure approx 10 1/2″ metal end to metal end with the handle loop but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit.
