This is a wonderful olde handmade basket with a carved handle that has been in our collection for many years. It is originally from a rural Ohio farmhouse. The dry primitive paint is the best color of country blue that matches your antique cadet blue calico and other country colors.
It’s an older one but might not be 1800’s olde. The paint is a wonderful color of antique blue and is the original layer. It’s much better in person than the pics could ever show you. The color of blue matches antique cadet blue calico fabrics which is why we added it to our collection over 30 years ago when it was found in Pennsylvania at a show we did there back then.
Beautiful antique handwoven primitive gathering basket with a rich dark aged patina. Measures approximately 13.5 inches across the top and 8 inches tall. Sturdy and displays beautifully. There is one small broken weave on the lower exterior (shown in photos), but it does not affect the basket’s overall appearance or structure. A wonderful piece for farmhouse, rustic, or country home décor, or for a primitive basket collection.
