Used with heavy, thick needles in sewing sails on ships, to hold and keep the needle from digging into your hand. Very nice look and nicely made of heavy leather. Very heavy and well sewn. Scans show it all. Hand slips through the opening for a firm grasp. Made to fit the left hand.In very good antique condition overall. Shows great, honest wear and use.
