Four Vintage 1980s Philip Stark Costes Mahogany Chairs
Four Vintage 1980s Philip Stark Mahogany and Steel COSTES Chairs. Note: One chair has just gotten a small 6” crack on one side. Buy the three that are in Very Good Condition and you get the fourth chair free. Its repair is actually quite easy using wood filler and some sanding and stain…it will be nearly as good as new. These chairs were bought brand new by my parents in the early 1980s in Italy. The chairs lived in their home until my parents passed away five years ago and they have been in high end storage ever since. They are in all Very Good Condition (see note above on chair with small crack) all with NO TEARS on the leather seats. The only other marks on these chairs are on the front tops of the arms of the chairs – see the attached photos – where they rubbed against the edge of the marble table they sat in front of for almost 40 years. These marks can easily be buffed or sanded out by a professional furniture restorer. These chairs cost over 6K new.
